Good morning.
Yesterday we started to look at how to pray for the sick in order to see healing.
Today we will continue.
Remember we are praying in order to see the sick healed. We are praying expecting a healing to take place. It is not a prayer of comfort, but a prayer of faith to see healing. It may be helpful to read over yesterday’s blog again because we are carrying on where we left off.
Testing it:
After you have commanded the sickness to go, ask the person being prayed for to check out (if they can) if the sickness is gone.-Is pain still there? Can they move a body part? bend over? walk? etc. Get them test out their body in order to see if they have been healed. Testing it is important because the person who is being prayed for steps out in faith;they are performing an action based on faith. Sometimes the pain is still there, but when you start to test the healing, the pain starts to go. Faith and action always works together.
I also think it is also important to ask the person if they feel anything when being prayed for. This is important because it helps to highlight what is going on in their body, this can help to  focus your prayer. For example, sometimes the person being prayed for can feel a heat on them, or a heat touching the area that is sick. Other times they could feel a tingling like electric current moving on that part of their body. Further still, they could feel their body responding to the command, such as muscles moving, nerves realigning etc. Knowing what is going on in their body helps to understand where the Holy Spirit is moving and it gives direction to your prayer.
Improvement but not total healing:
If there is some improvement but not total healing then this is encouraging. Give thanks back to God and carrying on praying (Mark 6.22-26).
Not Healed:
If there is no healing, you may need to speak to them again and find out more about the sickness. And then return praying.
More Prayer:
Don’t stop after the first prayer- keep going with testing the sickness; I learned that you can see more healing after the fifth of sixth prayer then with the first (unless the healing anointing is strong at the time, then just one prayer maybe all that is needed). But if there is no healing at first; don’t give up! keep going. Command the sickness and then get them to test it out, and repeat.
If no healing straight away:
If no healing straight away, that’s ok because some healings take place during the night or later in the week. Not all healing is ‘Now’; there can be a delay factor of hours or a week. Some healings take time and every time they get prayed for the better they get. A lot of these issues were covered in blog 8.
Remember these are basic steps, but next time you pray for some who needs healing try them out. A lot of breakthrough in healing is persistence and not giving up, so if there is no healing at first keep at it. Most of the key healing ministries started out seeing no one healed through their prayers. Why not find someone today who needs healing and try out yesterday’s and today’s blogs, find as many people as you can and practice on them. When most people step out into a spiritual gift such as prophetic or evangelism it can be messy with mistakes, with small breakthroughs. The more practice that comes, the more one flows successfully . So if you want to move more in healing; practice on as many people as you can find!
