Day 3

Hello.

Did you know there are rainbows over your life?

Rainbows flowing down out of heaven and into you; into your future and shaping it. Your future is being shaped by the promises of God, the promises that he has spoken into your life and future and is moulding it in accordance with those promises.

In the natural what are rainbows?

They are reflection and refraction of light in water droplets caused by sunlight. Rainbows always appear in the section of the sky directly opposite the sun. In scripture the sun can be symbolic of presence of God ……

In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance

(Revelation 1.16)

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendour into it (Revelation 21.23-24).

The promises that God has spoken over your life have shades of colour within them. The promises of God have colour; God didn’t create the rainbow full of colour just because it looked nice, it was symbolic of the nature of promises.

When God gives you a promise, it is not black and white it is full of colours and each colour tells you something about the nature of that promise and how it blesses you but it also tells you about the nature of the promise giver. The colours of the rainbow are important, for example colours throughout scripture hold meaning, colours are largely symbolic as is the rainbow itself. The colours of the rainbow are; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and purple. There are even colours in a rainbow that we can’t see (those unseen colours will be addressed in a future blog).

Your life in God sparkles with colour, and that colour flows out into your future, because God has plans to bless you. Not only that but He has plans to enlarge the place of your blessing so that you can hold more of the blessings and fulfilment of His promises to you. Your footsteps are set in motion by God (Proverbs 20.24).

Even if you feel like you’re in darkness and those promises that God has given you seem a million miles away, even when in our own mind God has broken His promise to you or you see no way that promises can come to pass now there is still a burst of colour of His promises that surround you.

Tomorrow we will look more at the promises of God for your life.
